Concept Collage

According to my reading, which talks about the conservation and use of traditional vegetables in southwest Nigeria, there are nine species in southwest Nigeria that are important sources of traditional vegetables. They are valuable sources of food, medicine, cash income and for reasons of cultural observance. But there are some problems such as lack of cash or lack of knowledge on growing techniques, so just 50% of the farmers cultivated the listed species. To change this condition, the reporter gives several conclusions and recommendation in the article. For instance, simple techniques of propagation as developed by the projects are useful in conseving and popularizing traditional vegetables.

I think the native vegetables are connected to the vegetation system, which includes wetland, woodland, and agriculture areas. And the vegetation system is connected with others such as water system, energy system, people with their culture and religions, etc. They work together and form as an integrated whole.

  1. YES! Great work Rula... Your focus on native plant materials will be a great resource for the entire studio, and it will be interesting to follow how varieties of plants might be symbiotically deployed..Also which plants could potentially provide the most slope stability for erosion control along the profile of waterways? What kind of "simple propagation techniques" are you looking into? And which site would be the most appropriate to explore the light-industrial landuse required?
